  • Yes

  • Yes, absolutely! We aim to pair you with the right tutor for you and will offer availability where you can have a regular lesson slot with the same tutor.

  • Everything! We specialise in popular music styles such as Pop, Rock, Musical Theatre, Folk, Blues & Jazz but we will aim to tailor your lessons to the musical styles you’re interested in.

  • We encourage parents to be involved in their child’s learning and we are happy to discuss the lessons and progress with them each week. We also allocate time every so often to showcase lesson material to parents. However, having an ‘audience’ (even if it’s a parent or close relative) in a lesson can be distracting for a student. It is important to feel comfortable about asking questions or making mistakes in your lesson without feeling like you are being watched. Therefore we have a lovely waiting room where parents can relax and make themselves a drink while the lesson takes place. Of course, if a student wishes to have their parent observe the lesson then we are happy for them to do so!

  • We don’t provide instruments for you to take home with you, therefore you will need your own to practise on between lessons. Guitarists and Bass Guitarists will need to bring their instruments with them to the lesson, however drummers and pianists/keyboard players do not need to bring their own instruments to the lesson (phew!).

  • Yes we do offer discounts to siblings, parents or students who are learning more than one instrument.

    Our discounted lesson fees are:

    £18 for 30mins
    £27 for 45mins
    £36 for 60mins

  • Ideally as much notice as possible as it may give us time to accommodate other students or rearrange your lesson for a different day. The minimum notice period to avoid being charged is 24hrs.

  • We recommend for you to talk to your tutor about buying an instrument for the first time. We are always happy to advise you!

  • A minimum of 10mins per day. 15-20mins per day is ideal. Little and often is better than
    an hour once a week!

  • No problem! We can help you choose the correct guitar or show you how to set up the drums.

  • A difficult question to answer – and the answer is specific and dependent on the individual’s budget and requirements. We are always happy to advise you before you buy. Usually a high quality second hand instrument is better than buying a ‘brand new’ poor quality one.

  • Yes, we organise Rockschool workshops! We also encourage our students to form their own bands and join other music groups such as orchestras, brass bands, and choirs. We also aim to put on annual shows which give students the opportunity to perform!

  • Absolutely!
